A fresh planning application was this week published for four houses to be built on the derelict builders’ yard in Ashen Tree Lane, Dover.
A previous application for a bigger development on the site was withdrawn in the face of much opposition.
Agents for the developer says they have taken into consideration the comments about the previous bid with this plan for “less low key units.” Derelict buildings on the site will be demolished if the bid goes ahead.
The land, just off Castle Hill, has an interesting history. For many years, possibly 200 years, it was a dairy, then a builders’ yard and post-war used for education and sports facilities by the county council.
