Development Buckland Mill Site

Homes England, a government supported agency, has submitted its latest planning application, to Dover District Council, showing a scheme for 78 houses and 57 flats along near the Dour riverbank.
A Homes England spokesperson said this latest scheme will provide “a vibrant riverside development.”
Much of the land on this site has remained semi-derelict since Buckland Mill closed in 2000. A proposal to develop this site, mainly homes, was included in an application dated 8th December 2006.
Only a small part of the development has so far been completed previously, including, the construction of a number of homes on the 58 acres (2.3 hectares) site. Hopefully this latest phase will help speed this 13 year plus project closer to its’ final completion.
If any member of the “Society” would like to comment on this application then please contact our Planning Committee.
My thanks to Terry Sutton for providing much of the information in this article.
