Karma Nightclub Flat Conversion Controversy

There is wide spread controversy over a planning application, published this week, to construct 29 flats on the site of the now-closed Karma nightclub in Adrian Street, Dover.
The Dover Society is strongly against the scheme, partly on the grounds that the blocks of flats, overlooking A20 Snargate Street, would have a severe negative impact on views including those of Dover Castle.
Scores of members of the public are forwarding their opinions about the proposed development with some in favour who say the development of “high quality apartments” would rid the area of the anti-social activities now suffered by residents.
