Mobile Food and Drinks Facility yards from Old St James’ Church

Members of The Dover Society are being invited to comment, to Dover District Council, about a venture to open a mobile food and drinks facility just yards from the ruins of ancient Old St James’ Church.
A street trading licence application has been made to the local authority for consent to sell hot and cold food and drinks, seven days a week, on what is described as a car wash forecourt in Maison Dieu Road.
Those opposed to the idea also point out the facility would also be only yards from the attractive White Horse public house in St James’ Street and next door to the listed Castle Hill House.
Opinions on the idea, for and against, should be sent to Dover District Council as soon as possible.
